Just thought that I'd start a thread about the first turn before we actually get it, so that we can organize our thoughts, discussion, etc.

Maybe you guys have a certain protocol used in the PTW ISDG that I don't know about, and if so, forgive me. ;)

First off, how is this going to work? How long are we going to hold the save? What will be posted in the forum about the first turn? Whom will it be distributed to? Will there be a special chat to discuss what to do?

Pardon my questions. ;)

If we start on a grassland shield or a special resource, we move off of it...then place the city. That way we don't lose the bonus resource by putting the city on top of it. We want to move next to a river obviously...etc.

Otherwise, we plop the city right away.

No longer than we need to. A proposal was made a the UN (since the real 1st turn - 4050 BC will have gone by) that screenshots be made of everyone's starts and sent to each team. If this happens, we should be able to send in about 1/2 hour. If we have to start blind, then it will obviously take longer.

Not sure if you mean before or after it is played but either an admin provided screenshot will be posted before it is played or I will post an opening shot and hope everyone makes it to chat in a timely manner. After the turn is sent I will post all shots that are needed to plan for the next turn.

Whom will it be distributed to?

For now, just the elected officials.

Always. Our chatroom is open for discussion anytime people are present and we will have a turnchat when the turn arrives; all are welcome.
