We've found the top edge of the continent.

Also, there seems to be quite a bit of flat land down in the south. It doesn't surprise me at all that there's another civ down there... At least they don't have bonus food down there like we have.

I changed the WF a bit between the two cities, giving one tile from Ra to LP in order to get more gold and shields in LP to get the Temple done sooner. :) I will have my orders updated to reflect this soon.

All Overseer orders have been updated through turn 40.

Things will really start cooking soon.

Land area is not that important a stat. Mfg and population* are more useful indicators.

*preferably the victory page population percentage as it is real/labourer based population and also a direct comparative measurement.

Sneak peak at the demographics analyses I'm doing:

I have a list of the demographics of all 5 teams in the 3 most important categories: GNP (commerce before corruption), MFG (shields after corruption) and Productivity (GNP + MFG + food bonus in all cities). These together give you a very good reflection of your economic strength compared with the rest of the world.

Turn 2710 BC (27)

GNP 16, 14, 12, 11, 8
MFG 10, 7, 7, 6, 4
Prod 36, 26, 25, 20, 19

We are first in every category. Despite being last in land area, our GNP and MFG are both over 2x the team lowest in these categories. The difference in productivity between us and the 2nd place team is almost 40%.

On the victory status screen, it shows that we have 33% of the world population. The average is 20%.

In other words, our economy is massively more powerful than the average in the rest of the world.

Don't worry about our land area, we'll be fine.

And I would point out that if y'all are going to start cooking, that you rookies consult me first. With all that wine and spice about you could really ruin some good dishes. ;)

Thanks again for covering Trip :b:

Stuff pertinent to next turn:

Scouting:

Miccofl and I agreed that moving 4-1 with Club in the south is a good idea. We can then move 2-2-6 to that mountain just out of sight. Frozzy?

Just a reminder, hut popping! Especially in the north. I have a city that is to built up there rather soon, and we won't really have units to spare to hunt down a bunch of popped barbs for some time.

The Warrior to the SW of Ra is heading for the wines city site that is to be built in a few turns. It can look around the fog for another turn or two but must NOT stray off too far. We may have a visitor in that area or barbs. If we lose a Settler to a barb or another civ's scout this early on heads will roll.

You can call it by the name I picked out for it a while ago (Kyrandia). :D

Oh, one more thing about moving units around this coming turn.

We should move one of the Warriors in Ra towards LP now. It times with proper MP in order to do so. Also, we should have a Warrior in the east to protect the Worker over there in case a barb appears from that direction.

when will we be upgrading to 1.22? the patch is out as a single dl now and only 24 megs ! beats the 30 it was

I'd like to see more testing done with the PBEM segment of the patch. PBEM is unfortunately mostly ignored in patches and such, and because of that something can get screwed up and no one will notice. Last thing we need is for our game to run into an unavoidable crash at some point in the game because we upgraded too soon.
