Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri

Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri continues the story of the ground-breaking Civilization series before it, as a voyage to Earth's nearest star, Alpha Centauri is launched. However, all does not go swimmingly, as an unfortunate sequence of events leads to a break-up of the ship, and seven colony capsules sent hurtling toward Chiron. Sound familiar?

Fortunately, Alpha Centauri has more than enough innovation to distinguish it from its predecessors. A unit design workshop, a social engineering section to create more depth to governments, and unique faction ideologies all help to make this a necessary purchase for all TBS fans.

Even after the launch of Civilization III interest in Alpha Centauri is still strong. This to a large degree due to the Multiplayer capability of the game but also many single players have also grown fond of the game and continue to play it.

At Civilization Gaming Network we have a forum where you can give your opinion, ask questions or discuss strategies and other points concerning the game. In the forums you also can arrange PBEMs (Play By E-Mail) or join our PBEM tournament.

If you want to know more about PBEM here is a write-up from the SMAC forum moderator and CGN Vice President, Mark.

We also have a files section with Patches, Techcharts, Maps, Scenarios and other items you may find useful.

News on our SMAC tournament can be found on the tournament page.

Newest addition is our SMAC Academy featuring tips and write-ups from experienced players and creators on various aspects of the game
